Bellwork: discussing field trip permission slips. Our field trip will be next week, March 23rd and 24th. We are going to the Bodies exhibit at the Luxor in Las Vegas. The trip also includes a behind the scenes tour of Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. The cost for the trip is $25 plus spending money for lunch at the food court in the Luxor. Space is limited, so the first signed permission slips with paid receipt from the finance office will go on the trip. We are limited to 7 students per class. We worked on plant anatomy definitions and flower dissections. The worksheet is below. The dissection can be done at home with any large flower. I do have a few left in my room if students need them.
Bellwork: By what means does a plant gain energy? Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope everyone had a great time. Today we started a new unit on plant structure, function and anatomy. We watched a short video and worked on a leaf anatomy sheet and a flower anatomy sheet. The video and worksheets are below.

Work on test revisions, retakes and any missing work. Tuesday is ACT testing and I will be available in the afternoon for any needed help.
Wednesday: Bellwork: Any questions over Evolution before test Test over Evolution Bellwork: What is a Vestigial Structure? Describe the difference between Homologous and Analogous structures. We will spend the day reviewing Evolution and preparing for the test. Bellwork: Why are species with greater genetic variability more adaptable to changes in the environment?
